Bill and Pat

Bill graduated from Purdue University in 1969 and was saved while flying B-52’s in Viet Nam.  Pat attended Omaha Baptist Bible College and was a church secretary when they met in Omaha Nebraska.  Soon after they were married Bill resigned his commission to attend Liberty Baptist Seminary.  After 12 years in the pastorate Bill & Pat along with their five children determined that the Lord was leading them to serve Him as missionaries in Mexico.  By faith they entered Mexico with a pop-up camper, the Jesus Movie on video and the peace of God that they were following the leading  of the Holy Spirit.  That was in 1993 and since then their five children have grown up on the mission field and are now either serving on the mission field or preparing to do so.  Bill and Pat are still ministering in small villages in the high mountain areas of Mexico.

Early in our time in Mexico a lady came to Pat with a request.  She was going to Hermosillo to visit her mother and she wanted Pat to give her an outline of what to say to her mother to lead her to the Lord.  Pat wrote the outline and the Holy Spirit then used it to lead Pat to write the “Discipleship Lessons”.  Since then we have been using those lessons to teach the Bible to the people to whom we minister. Over the years those simple “Discipleship Lessons” have grown into multiple series of lesson booklets with thousands of pages of instruction.

Whether it is in a Mexican rental house, a camper, a tent or even on the bank of a dried out river: all it takes is a generator with a computer and printer to write and print lessons used to teach the Word of God.  The lessons have proven to be a powerful tool as there are virtually no books in the remote villages where we minister and the Bibles and lessons we give them quickly become their prized possessions.  Their great love for the Bible and the Word of God has been a great inspiration of our entire family over our years in Mexico.
